What does a Vogue girl eat?

Heard the one about the glossy magazine editor who's a sexy size 14 and happy? In the first in a new series, we asked Vogue's Alexandra Shulman, to keep a food diary.
  
  


Monday
Breakfast: Hot water with lemon, fat free yoghurt with dried apricots.
Mid-morning: Americano coffee with a bit of milk.
Lunch: Chopped steak at Le Caprice with Condé Nast financial director, Pam Raynor. Belgian endive salad and double espresso, and water.
Dinner: Half a yellow pepper, tomatoes, shavings of parmesan and head of chicory - 2 glasses white wine - at home.

Tuesday
Breakfast: Hot water and ginger, porridge and golden syrup.
Mid-morning: Large mug espresso coffee with milk.
Lunch: With Stella McCartney at Assagi (in London's Bayswater). Gamberoni salad, double espresso, Diet Coke, water.
Dinner: Guy Fawkes picnic at home with friends - five cocktail sausages, prosciutto, chicken liver pâté, green salad, lentil salad, chocolate biscuit cake - 2 glasses champagne and 3 glasses white wine.

Wednesday
Breakfast: Yoghurt and dried apricot, hot water and ginger.
Mid-morning: Coffee in office during Italian lesson.
Another coffee in office during meeting with Jemima Khan and Unicef.
Lunch: Charlotte Street Hotel, W1, with Elton John's press agent Paul Carey. Calf's liver and peas, diet coke, water.
Dinner: Two pieces prosciutto, one head chicory, one glass white wine at home.

Thursday
Breakfast: Three wheat-free oatcakes with Turkish honey, hot water and ginger.
Mid-morning: Coffee at Worx studio on photo shoot of myself and my sister, Nicola, with photographer Trevor Leighton for the Daily Mail.
Lunch: Chicken, tomato and avocado salad at the studio.
Dinner: Snacks at parties - one glass champagne and crudités in Vogue boardroom at a celebration of Christmas issue with leading advertisers. One glass water, four cocktail sausages at the V & A for designer Caroline Charles's fortieth anniversary party, two vodka, redcurrant purée and prosecco cocktails at Tatler's Little Black Book party.

Friday
Breakfast: Porridge and golden syrup, hot water and ginger.
Lunch: Plate of vegetable antipasto and bottle of water while reading copy at Carluccio's .
Dinner: Roast chicken and roast vegetables at home with Emma Soames, editor of Saga magazine. Three glasses white wine.

Saturday
Breakfast: Coffee.
Mid-morning: Bottle still water at service station on M40.
Lunch: At friends' Flora and Peter Soros's house in Oxfordshire. Roast lamb, asparagus, potatoes dauphinoise, cheese. One Bloody Mary, water.
Dinner: Sautéed funghi. Lots of very good red wine and can't remember main course. One champagne truffle and coffee afterwards.

Sunday
Breakfast: Coffee, two rashers bacon, one sausage, orange juice.
Lunch: Bolitto misto, salsa verde, lentils, green salad, fruit and cream.
Dinner: Spaghetti alla vongole at my friend Jane Bonham Carter's flat. Green salad, cheese, four glasses of wine.
