Every couple of years, someone launches another bar-club-restaurant combo that claims to be a contemporary recreation of New York's Studio 54. Generally, that's codeword for 'prepare for a let-down', but in the case of Cirque, it's not far off the mark. Cirque is sexy boutique bar design, hot and cold running celebrities of the Damon Dash variety, a gold leather VIP bar-front, stilt walkers and aerial artists. It's also the only bar in London to stock all sizes of Cristal, from Methuselahs to Balthazars. The effect is borderline Baccanalian furore.
