Noodles of talent

Three inspiring categories, a top prize of £10,000 - roll up for our Seeds of Change photography competition.

Welcome to our second annual Seeds of Change photography competition. The best photograph inspired by the phrase 'feed your imagination' will win £10,000, and two runners-up will win £500 each. The winning picture will be chosen by our judges from the best in the following three categories: 'food and people', 'food for thought' and 'food, glorious food'. OFM is committed to high-quality food, and so we are delighted to team up with organic sauce and pasta producers Seeds of Change again. We had over 5,000 entries last year - do you think you can do better?

This year 'food and people' will be judged by award-winning portrait photographers Jane Bown and Harry Borden, along with The Observer's picture editor Greg Whitmore. The scope in this category is limitless as long as it involves both food and people.

'Food for thought' will be judged by award-winning photographer John Reardon and OFM food writer Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. They are looking for photographs that have a story or an opinion and that will make us think.

The judges of 'food, glorious food' will be Michelin-starred chef Giorgio Locatelli, OFM's Nigel Slater and Andrew James, editor of Practical Photography magazine. This category is about celebrating all things foodie. OFM editor Nicola Jeal, and Elaine Frankland from Seeds of Change, will chair the judging panel.

For more details on each category go to www.observer.co.uk/seedsofchange. You can also download an exclusive recipe podcast by Giorgio Locatelli from the website. Giorgio has recorded a series of podcasts for OFM and the second one is available today - artichoke salad with parmesan - buy the ingredients and he will talk you through the method. Just download him to your MP3 player.
