Three more neighbourhood Italians.

Casanova 13 Quay Street, Cardiff, 029-2034 4044

A side street by the Millennium Stadium isn't the first place you'd go for proper Italian food prepared in that uncomplicated way that lets the ingredients speak for themselves. The £7.95 lunch menu is a bargain.

Enzo Ristorante 110 The Esplanade, Weymouth, Dorset, 01305 778666

Great pastas and pizzas on the seafront, not to mention fish from the specials board. And leave room for the ices and other scrumptious desserts. Afterwards, stroll on the sand with views across the bay.

Sutor Creek 21 Bank Street, Cromarty, Ross-shire, 01381 600855

A little corner of Tuscany in the north of Scotland. The pizzas are a delight, while the short à la carte menu changes daily and scores strongly on local produce. The well-priced organic wine list is superbly complementary.
