Three more treats in the Midlands.

Edmunds 64 High Street, Henley-in-Arden, Warwickshire, 01564 795666

A timber-and-plaster building in a pretty town, with a tasteful, cosy jumble of rooms inside. The food is really quite sexy and based on high-class raw materials handled with care and respect. Always gives pleasure.

Eleven 11 Regent Place, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, 01926 424723

A French husband-and-wife-run gem serving consistently excellent bistro fare. Unobtrusive but warm service, and a well-chosen wine list. Tuesday's menu terroir, a bargain at £12.95 for three courses, packs the place out.

The Horse and Trumpet Medbourne, Leicestershire, 01858 565000

Modern cooking at its best - the emphasis is on taste and texture. The nine-course tasting menu is a gastronomic experience at a very reasonable price (£45). Good ambience, too, in this converted old village pub.

North Kilworth, Leics
